Professional Learning Rubrics

Leaders can use the professional learning rubrics to strategically improve the two PL structures we’ve found to be most effective in our partners’ schools: 1) collaborative planning and 2) observation and feedback.

The rubrics can help inform a vision for effective professional learning, describe the current reality within PL structures, and identify areas of strength and growth.

Collaborative planning (i.e., PLCs)

Use these rubrics to better understand your conditions for collaborative planning and monitor the effectiveness of unit internalization, lesson preparation, and student work analysis.

Observation and feedback (i.e., coaching)

Use these rubrics to better understand your conditions for observation and feedback and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing feedback cycles and instructional rounds.
